Photography
seems a perfectly natural way to express all those feelings
you experience when in the presence of something or someone
who moves you. Our emotions are the most important things we
possess and if we recall certain moments in our lives, what
we are really remembering is how we felt at that time. These
are very subjective moments and if I am able to translate these
moments in my photos then I am happy that I have gone some way
in achieving what I seek to create.
Chris Hyde was born in
Balham, south London in 1966. His mother was a young paris émigré
who couldn't speak a word of English. She learnt.... I also have
an uncontrollable urge to throw myself into situations where I
am forced to learn, experience and adapt. I have lived in England,
Russia, the United States, but now feel quite settled in Paris,
but you never know when the travel bug will hit you and you just
know you have to move on. Meanwhile my travels have taken me to
Roumania, Poland, Israel, Cameroun, Madagascar, Pakistan and I
am always drawn back to Russia. We are all affected by external
experiences, but by some magical transformational process these
become subjective and become your own. This is precisely the moment
when a snapshot of a girl will transform into a photograph that
shows how deeply you have been moved by the sensual glint in her
eyes. Or when the photo of a statue will transform into an expression
of the feelings you experience when you are deeply affected by
the original creator's vision of beauty. |
